In the beginning of this course, I was reluctant to create my website and to participate as a whole. I was, in truth, skeptical about what Professor McVerry was talking about each class regarding how important it was to know your way around the world wide web. I thought that I would never need to know how to work with HTML or how to make my own website. But, now I find it cool that I actually made my own website! I am able to write about what I want, when I want, and I don’t have to worry about if people like it or not because it is mine.
As Jimmy Dean says, “I can’t change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination.” To me, this quote means that, although some things about my life are unchangeable, I can always do little things to make it easier for me to reach the destination I want for myself. In other words, things that happened in my past changed me as a person and I know I can never go back to the girl I used to be because that is the path the wind has taken me down. However, I can do certain things to try and find myself again and create, not the person who I was before, but someone new and someone I can learn to like. One of the things I can do is continue to work on my blog. This is a way for me to write about my day, good or bad, and reflect about what it means to me and how it can effect me. This is where I have to just have faith in God and have faith in where he will take me throughout my life. “Trust the lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths strait.” Proverbs 3:5-6
